The centre has been in operation since 1979. It readjusts its services according to modern needs and the latest findings of Psychology and Pedagogics. It is open on a daily basis from 9 am to 2 pm throughout the school year.
It is run by a School Psychologist, a specialist in Educational Psychology, Mrs Revecca Galiatsatou.

It helps :

1. Students of all levels (Primary-Junior High-Senior High)
     a) individually, with intelligence, personality and interests tests,
     b) on a group level (special maturity teams aiming at self-awareness),
     c) through the institution of Career Advising (SEP), initially introduced at
     Primary School, which helps students gradually discover their inclinations,
      interests, ambitions and personality. The process comes to an end at the
      first grade of Senior High School with a special battery test (Career
      Advising Test), set up by trained school teachers and the School
      Psychologist. By analysing the test findings and through personal
     interviews we help our adolescent students realize what their tendencies
      and skills are and attune them to their wishes and expectations.

2. Parents
     a) with individual interviews,
     b) with the Parents' School

3. Teachers of all levels
     a) with individual interviews,
     b) with monthly pedagogical sessions (attended by teachers of class
     cycles in Primary School),
     c) with class activities, group tests, sociology graphs or games promoting
     creative imagination,
     d) with seminars for the teaching staff (once or twice per year), or with
     groups of teachers according to their interests and needs that result from
     the Pedagogical sessions (three or four times per year).

The role of the Centre for Child Psychology is strictly consultative and functions within the framework of Prevention only.
